With over 20 plus years in the insurance industry as a State Farm agent, manager, and claim specialists, and as the founder of an investment property holding company, Erik brings years of relevant technical experience to the process of buying and selling real estate for his clients.
Erik’s Mission Statement
Real estate for Erik is a continuation of his long service to people in insurance, and an integral part of helping people fulfill their dreams of home ownership. Home ownership is a foundation on which families grow, where children perform better in school and have better health, where the home provides familial and community stability, and homeownership builds wealth to transfer and better the next generations. When you work with Erik, he will use RE/MAX's industry leading business model and technology to help you reach your own dreams for yourself and your family.
Erik grew up in a family of four with two parents who built a State Farm agency in La Grange over 43 years, where Erik learned the value of a strong work ethic and of always placing clients’ needs first. Erik’s focus will never be on how many homes he can sell, but rather on building lasting relationships with his clients across generations, as he did in his 21 years of insurance.
Erik is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, and worked in Germany and England for three years after obtaining his undergraduate degree, before returning to Kentucky and to insurance.
Along the way Erik built a large rental portfolio of his own and gained deep knowledge of the trades, technical aspects, and the cost to renovate and repair homes. He now combines these accumulated skills to help clients buying and selling their homes. Having moved 14 times while in Europe and later with State Farm, Erik understands the importance and complexities of finding the right home.
Erik is married to Carla Dearing, and together they have a blended family of four adult children. Erik and Carla are foodies, avid cyclists and runners, and enjoy traveling and exploring other cultures.
